Privacy
series.guide is a free guide to new episodes and movies. There are no ads and no tracking, and nothing is sold or shared with advertisers or data brokers.
Without an account. You don't need one. Your list, marks, filters and theme stay on your device (in the browser, or in the app). To work out "You might like", the titles on your list are sent to series.guide without your name or email, compared with other lists, and not kept.
With an account. Signing in takes your email address. I keep:
- your email, so you can sign in (as a one-time code, or with a passkey)
- your list and marks (added, caught up, seen, stopped, not interested, thumbs), your saved filters and your theme, so they sync between your devices
- if you make a public page: the name, @handle and avatar you choose. A public page shows your list to anyone with the link, and only while you have it switched on
- if you add the calendar link: a random link that shows your list's dates to anyone who has it. You can replace it at any time
Sign-in codes and session keys are kept only as hashes. When you ask for a sign-in code, your network address is kept with the request, so the form can't be used to flood someone's inbox.
Feedback. If you send feedback, I get your message, the email you leave (if any) so I can reply, the time, and your network address, which is used only to limit how many messages one place can send in a day. It's kept with the site's data. Write to hello@series.guide to have it deleted.
News emails. If you ask to hear when there's news, your email and the date you asked are kept for that one thing, a few emails a year at most, each with a way to stop them.
Visits to the website are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics and a daily count that never keeps your address. The app doesn't count visits or use any analytics.
Where the information comes from. Show info is from TVmaze and movie info from TMDB. When you search in the app for a show that isn't in the schedule, your search words go to TVmaze to look it up. Posters load from TVmaze and TMDB.
Where it's kept. On Cloudflare, which runs series.guide.
Deleting your account. In the app: Your titles, the account button, then Delete my account. On the website: Account, then Delete my account. Your account, your synced list, your public page, your passkeys and your sign-ins are erased at once. Your device keeps its own copy of your list until you remove the app or clear it.
Children. series.guide isn't meant for children under 13, and I don't knowingly keep information about them.
Changes. If this page changes, the date below changes too, and anything important goes in What's new.
